The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have been touring India on their first royal visit to the country, and as usual the fashion choices of Kate Middleton are being closely watched. While playing cricket with some locals, Her Royal Highness went for a vibrant vegan Anita Dongre dress with an eye-catching pattern and perfect fit, proving that high fashion can be cruelty-free.

The Mumbai-based designer of the gown has chosen to ditch leather and cashmere in her collections. She said this about her choice to create cruelty-free fashion:

“My work reflects my real-life values, which is why I don’t use leather in my designs. With so many other choices available, we don’t need to support fashion that is the product of an animal’s violent death. “
