NOTTINGHAM RESTAURANT NABS PLACE ON PETA’S TOP 10 LIST OF

The Filthy Vegan Recognised for Delicious – and Deliverable – Plant-Based Fare

Nottingham – In the midst of the coronavirus crisis, PETA – which notes that the virus originated in a meat market – has finalised its list of the top 10 places to find vegan kebabs in the UK. The group’s list includes tasty plant-based options that are available via delivery and eateries that offer gift cards that can be used when it’s safe for them to re-open.

On the list is Nottingham restaurant The Filthy Vegan – whose kebabs can be dropped off at your door. Its Famous Filthy Kebab is a hot naan wrap filled with soya chunks, salad, Sriracha sauce, and vegan mayo.

“The vegan offerings at The Filthy Vegan deliver a moreish meaty flavour with zero cruelty,” says PETA Director of Vegan Corporate Projects Dawn Carr. “PETA’s top 10 list of vegan kebabs in the UK will thrill diners with classic-tasting cuisine that doesn’t involve the grilled flesh of gentle animals.”

PETA – whose motto reads, in part, that “animals are not ours to eat” – notes that everyone who goes vegan spares the lives of nearly 200 animals every year, including gentle sheep, who can recognise dozens of individuals from photographs and be calmed in a nerve-wracking situation by seeing a photograph of a friend. In addition, each person who goes vegan reduces his or her own risk of suffering from heart disease, diabetes, strokes, cancer, and numerous other health concerns. Vegans also have significantly lower carbon footprints than meat-eaters do, as animal agriculture is a major producer of the greenhouse-gas emissions that cause climate change.

Rounding out PETA’s list are ‘Babs in Glasgow, I Am Döner in Leeds, The Big Kebabski in Devon, The Filthy Vegan in Nottingham, The Botanist in Newcastle, Seitan’s Kebab in Manchester, Döner Summer in York, Chelsea FC Vegan Kitchen in London, and What The Pitta! in Brighton.
