Charlie Brown: Be Beautiful in Your Own Skin

Singer-songwriter Charlie Brown may be best known for his upbeat lyrics and urban pop sound, but now, with his new anti-fur ad for PETA, he’s showing fans another aspect of his personality – kindness towards animals.

Be Beautiful in Your Own Skin and Let Animals Keep Theirs!

The London-based artist – who, with chart-topping singles such as “Bones”, is clearly on his way to greatness – hasn’t let fame change his values. He explains: “If I can use my voice to make a difference in the world, I will – so I’m proud to work with PETA to speak out against fur. We can have luxury and style, without wearing fur”.

Fur farms are so cruel that they are quite rightly illegal in the UK and many other countries. Animals confined to these hellholes spend their lives in cramped, wire-bottomed cages, surrounded by their own waste until they are strangled, electrocuted, beaten or even skinned alive. Foxes, raccoons, minks, rabbits and even cats and dogs suffer in this way so that their skins can be used to line coats as well as the pockets of the unethical fur industry.

The good news is that more and more people are opposing these atrocities. With this new ad, Charlie is joining an all-star line-up of musicians who shun fur, including Pink, Natalie Imbruglia, Joss Stone, Dave Navarro and Alexandra Burke.

Thousands of compassionate people have also been putting pressure on Harvey Nichols to stop selling fur, after the retailer recently went back on its fur-free promise. Add your voice here.
