Papa John’s: First National Delivery Chain to Launch Vegan Cheese Pizzas in the UK

Exciting news! Papa John’s vegan cheese pizzas are available in the UK – now we want a pizza that.

The highly anticipated non-dairy cheese option is available now at the company’s 350 UK stores. The plant-based dishes on offer include the Vegan Sheese and Tomato, Garden Party with Vegan Sheese, and Hot Pepper Passion with Vegan Sheese pizzas as well as Vegan Marmite and Cheese Scrolls as a side – an exciting testament to the ever-growing demand for vegan food. We don’t want to get too cheesy, but this is what dreams are made of.

PETA’s corporate outreach team and others have been urging the chain to offer vegan options for years. Lucky PETA staff members were invited to taste-test the vegan pizza at the end of 2018, and we were well impressed.

By adding vegan options to its menu, Papa John’s is recognising that vegan eating is on the rise in Britain. More and more people are making the switch every year – currently, there are reportedly over 3.5 million vegans in the UK.

Consumers who choose to ditch dairy “products” spare cows immense suffering in the dairy industry and also help combat the devastating environmental impact of animal agriculture.

While brands such as PizzaExpress and Zizzi have offered vegan cheese for a while and Pizza Hut now offers vegan cheese in its restaurants, Papa John’s cheesed the day to become the first national pizza delivery chain to offer vegan cheese in the UK. No doubt this will have a domino effect on other delivery chains.
