New Footage Shows Sheep Thrown and Pinned Down, Their Throats Slit

New footage of an abattoir in Wales filmed by Animal Aid investigators shows workers pinning down sheep, violently grabbing them by their throats, throwing them backwards onto the conveyor line, and cutting the throat of sheep who appears to be fully conscious.

This video highlights once again the horrifying, out-of-sight abuse of sheep in the UK.  In 2018, PETA Asia released footage of workers in England and Scotland punching frightened sheep in the face, slamming their heads into the floor, violently beating and kicking them, and throwing them off shearing trailers.

Sheep Are Abused for Flesh and Wool

Whether they’re exploited for their flesh, owool, sheep on farms are treated as collections of body parts, not individuals capable of feeling pain and fear.

Since 2014, PETA affiliates have documented cruelty to sheep at 99 wool-industry facilities across England, Scotland, Australia, the US, and South America. These exposéhave revealed that sheep are mutilated, tormented, and sometimes skinned alive.

What You Can Do to Help Sheep

The best way to help sheep and other animals abused on farms and in abattoirs is to stop paying for this cruelty.

Never buy wool. Before you purchase clothing and other items, check the labels, and if they mention wool, look for an animal-free alternative

When animals are viewed as commodities and their fear and pain are ignored, we must raise our voices and use our consumer clout to stop the abuse. Global fashion retailer Forever 21 sells an extensive range of wool products, including coats, knitwear, and accessories. Please urge the company to stop selling wool and switch to animal-friendly fabrics:
